For the week of Nov. 1-7

NOTE: This list covers full closures of interstates, ramps, bridges and primary roads, and lane closures at the bridge-tunnels and the Berkley, Coleman, High Rise and James River bridges.

Bridges and Tunnels: 


Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, I-64: 

  • Single-lane closures eastbound Nov. 2-5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. 


Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (HRBT) Expansion Project: 

  • Single-lane closures on I-64 east at the HRBT Nov. 1-7 from as early as 9 p.m. to as late as 5 a.m. 
  • Brief, intermittent stoppages on I-64 in both directions between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.: 
  • Willoughby Bay Bridge to Patrol Road Nov. 1-7 
  • Mallory Street Inspection Station to Willoughby Bay Bridge Nov. 2-3 
  • Single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions from the Norfolk shoreline to Patrol Road Nov. 1-7 from as early as 7 p.m. to as late as 9 a.m.

  • Alternating, single-lane closures southbound Nov. 3-6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Berkley Bridge, I-264:

Elizabeth River Crossings (Downtown/Midtown Tunnels):

I-64, Chesapeake: 

  • A series of brief, intermittent stoppages on I-64 in both directions from Bowers Hill to High Rise Bridge: 
  • Oct. 31-Nov. 1 between 7-10 a.m. 
  • Nov. 7-8 between 7-10 a.m. 
  • Full ramp closures from as early as 9 p.m. to as late as 9 a.m.:

I-64 Gap Segment C Widening, James City County:

  • Single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions from the New Kent County-James City County line to Route 199/Lightfoot (exit 234) Nov. 1-8 from as early as 7 p.m. to as late as 9 a.m. 
  • Brief, intermittent stoppages on I-64 in both directions from the New Kent County-James City County line to Route 199/Lightfoot (exit 234) Nov. 1-8 from 12:01-4 a.m. 
  • Full closures of the on-ramp from northbound Croaker Road to I-64 west Nov. 2-6 from as early as 7 p.m. to as late as 7 a.m. 

I-64, Hampton Roads Express Lanes (HREL): 

I-64, Norfolk Reversible Express Lanes:

  • Full closure in both directions: 
  • Continuously from 8 p.m. Oct. 30 until 3 a.m. Nov. 2  
  • Nov. 1-5 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.   
  • Nov. 2-6 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.      
  • Continuously from 8 p.m. Nov. 6 until 3 a.m. Nov. 9 

I-64, Chesapeake Express Lanes:

  • Full Express Lanes closures in both directions between the I-264/I-664 Bowers Hill interchange (exit 299) and the High Rise Bridge:  
  • Oct. 31-Nov. 1 from 7-10 a.m.  
  • Nov. 7-8 from 7 a.m. to as late as 10 a.m. 
  • Full Express Lanes closures from I-264 (exit 284) to the I-264/I-664 Bowers Hill interchange (exit 299) 
  • Eastbound Nov. 1-3 from as early as 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Westbound Nov. 3-5 from as early as 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Full Express Lanes closures westbound from the High Rise Bridge to Greenbrier Parkway (exit 289) Nov. 2, 6 from as early as 8 p.m. to as late as 10 a.m.  

I-64, HREL Hampton 4C Project:

  • Alternating, single-lane closures on I-64 west on Willoughby Bay bridge from 4th View Street (exit 273) to 15th View Street (exit 272) Nov. 2-7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Long-term, continuous single-lane closure on I-64 in both directions, reducing travel lanes from three to two lanes between Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road (exit 267) and LaSalle Avenue (exit 265A). 

I-64, HREL Norfolk 1A Project:

  • Alternating single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions from Granby Street (exit 276) to Chesapeake Boulevard (exit 278) continuously from as early as 7 p.m. Oct. 30 to 5 a.m. Nov. 2. (No eastbound work on Nov. 1 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.) 
  • Alternating single-lane closures on I-564 from I-64 to Terminal Boulevard:   
  • Eastbound Nov. 1-6 from as early as 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. 
  • Westbound Nov. 1-6 from as early as 9 a.m. to 4 a.m. 
  • Single-lane closures on I-64 east on Willoughby Bay bridge from 15th View Street (exit 272) to 4th View Street (exit 273) Nov. 1-6 from as early as 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Alternating single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions from Granby Street (exit 276) to Chesapeake Boulevard (exit 279) Nov. 2-5 from as early as 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Alternating single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions from Granby Street (exit 276) to Chesapeake Boulevard (exit 278) continuously from as early as 7 p.m. on Nov. 6 to 5 a.m. on Nov. 9. (No eastbound work on Nov. 8 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.) 
  • Long-term full on-ramp closure from southbound Tidewater Drive to I-64 east with new left turn at Thole Street to access I-64 east. 

I-64, HREL, Norfolk 1B Project:

  • Alternating, double-lane closures on I-64 west from I-264 (exit 284) to Chesapeake Boulevard (exit 278) Nov. 1-5 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Alternating, single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions from Tidewater Drive (exit 277) to Northampton Boulevard (exit 282) Nov. 2-5 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. 

 I-64, HREL Newport News/Hampton 4A/4B Project:

  • Single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions from I-664 to Rip Rap Road Nov. 1-8 from as early as 11 p.m. to as late as 5 a.m. 
  • Brief, intermittent stoppages on I-64 in both directions from I-664 to Rip Rap Road Nov. 1-8 from as early as 11 p.m. to as late as 5 a.m. 
  • Single-lane closures on I-64 in both directions from Denbigh Boulevard to Mercury Boulevard (exit 263) Nov. 1-8 from as early as 10 p.m. to as late as 5 a.m. 
  • Brief, intermittent stoppages on I-64 in both directions from Denbigh Boulevard to Mercury Boulevard (exit 263) Nov. 1-8 from as early as 11 p.m. to as late as 5 a.m. 
  • Full closure of the on-ramp from I-664 north to I-64 east Nov. 1-8 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Full closure of the I-64 east off-ramp to southbound LaSalle Avenue (exit 265A) Nov. 1-8 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Full closure of the on-ramp from LaSalle Avenue to I-64 east Nov. 1-8 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Full closure of the on-ramp from eastbound Hampton Roads Center Parkway to I-64 east Nov. 1-8 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
