Death: The congregation and staff wish to extend their sympathy to the family and friends of Richard Schuller. Richard's sister, M. Elaine Sharp, passed away at home unexpectedly last week. Please keep the Schuller and Sharp families in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

WELCOME HOME TO FCC

As we begin a new church year, we’d like to invite new and familiar faces alike to worship and to celebrate our existing and emerging ministries, starting September 13th at 8:30 & 10:30. From Youth and Children Sunday School Classes to In-Spired Gatherings and weekly studies, you are invited to share in radical hospitality by inviting friends and family to a homecoming of sorts at First Congregational Church.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite team gear to worship. We all know how excited we get when we cheer on our favorite teams. So, bring on the fanfare for Kick-Off Homecoming Sunday!

The Church Life Committee invites everyone to LUNCH immediately following the 10:30 Worship Service that morning as part of the celebration. They will provide ham, tableware and drinks.

We are asking the congregation to bring:

If your last name begins with A-H, please bring a hot side dish; I-Q salad and R-Z dessert. 

The Children/Youth Board will have games planned for the children. 

Plan to join us for great fellowship and delicious food!

UPCOMING BIBLE STUDY

You're invited to join Pastor Brad on Wednesday mornings, from 10 am - 11:15 am for an exploration into the Gospel of Luke. The study will start September 16th and continue through November 18th. No sign up is required and all are invited. Meeting place: The Sauter Meeting Room.

"Church tradition suggests Luke was a physician and, in some circles, an artist, too. We will take a closer look at how Luke depicts the ministry and mission of Jesus through the lens of the Holy Spirit. We will also consider the creative and imaginative force the Holy Spirit plays within the life of a believer and how we can experience and pay attention to the Holy Spirit's presence in our lives today. I look forward to our journey together through the pages of those twenty-four chapters, filled with mystery and awe."

ANNUAL MUM FLOWER SALE

Orders due by Sunday, September 13

Pick up will be on Sunday, September 20.

Cost: $10 each or 2 for $18

Order forms are available on the literature tables at each entrance or in the church office.

SEPTEMBER IN-SPIRED GATHERING

In September we'll feature Holly Christie from the Mansfield city schools to update us on the SAFE program, the state of schools in Ohio, and our area in particular! Holly is a Mansfield schools product and member of our church! Her schedule is tight so the program for September 17 only, we will flip our usual format. The speaker will present at 12:00 followed by lunch being served. Please make note of that change!

The cost for lunch is $10. Reservations can be made on Sunday mornings or in the church office during the week. The deadline for reservations is Monday, September 14.

CPR TRAINING AT FCC

A CPR refresher course will be offered on Saturday, September the 19th from 8:30 am to 9:15 am. You won't receive a certification card, but you'll receive updated information about CPR. Place: Blymyer Hall

If you'd like to receive your CPR certification, a hybrid course is being offered on the same day (September 19th), starting at 9:15 am. This course will finish by 2:30 pm. Place: Blymyer Hall

Sign-up sheets will be available outside of Blymyer Hall for both class offerings. These are free courses offered by Richland Health.

RUMMAGE SALE HELP IS ALWAYS NEEDED!!!

We anticipate the Mobi Pods for collection of Rummage Sale

items to be delivered September 1.

Collection of items will run through

Saturday, September 26th.



They will be located (like last time) in the church parking lot.

BELLS WILL BE RINGING

It's almost time to start hearing the handbells ringing in the sanctuary which means practice will begin for the handbell choir. But there will be a slight delay as the bells are currently being serviced for the first time since they were purchased in the 1970's! That gives anyone who would like to join the choir a little more time to arrange their schedules. Rehearsals, when they start will be at 5:30 on Wednesdays. Please consider joining by contacting Richard Schuller at 419.545.2400.

Regular office hours return on Tuesday, September 8.
