May is Mental Health Awareness Month; the month is dedicated to raising awareness and educating the public about mental illnesses, the realities of living with these conditions, and the strategies for attaining mental health and wellness.
The stigma that surrounds mental health is a common problem that affects whether or not people seek treatment. In fact, 60% of adults with a mental illness didn’t seek out mental health services in the previous year. In order to help facilitate the mission of Mental Health Awareness Month, facts will be presented through weekly eblast during the month of May.
