January Newsletter
Happy New Year!
“A year that will sparkle with c o l o r
After all, life's too short to be anything but unique. Colored gemstones are becoming more and more popular, and rightfully so! They allow the wearer to express their personality and tell a story with their jewelry.
What are your resolutions this year?
We at Corneau Goldsmithing aren’t necessarily set on a resolution, but more so set on making 2019 even better than the past year in every way possible. We hope to create more friendships, create more special moments for our clients, and of course - create beautiful custom jewelry. We are looking forward to a year full of laughter, love, and creativity.

Happy Birthday!
The January Birthstone is the Garnet. Contrary to popular belief, Garnets can be found naturally in a rainbow of colors outside of their most popular and recognized shade of crimson.
The stone is said to give strengths to friendships, and give the wearer courage. We think this couldn’t be a more positive note to start on for 2019!
Love Passed On!
It’s amazing when love has no boundaries, and passes through generations, family, and cycles of life. Our love story this month is a little non traditional, but we’re thrilled to be part of another sentimental family piece...

This month's love story is a continuation of a previous story, which included Jason and Melia's hunt for the perfect Gemstone. Jason brought Melia to our shop to pick out a stone that sparked joy in her.. Not that she needed any more joy - she was truly one of the most effervescent people we'd ever met! The two of them spent hours with us, learning about different gemstones, their meanings, and where they came from. After finding the perfect stone, Jason had Michael create a custom ring just for Melia as a token of his love for her. Melia wore the ring proudly, and loved telling others of her husband's special surprise trip to our shop!

They had a love so strong, the energy radiating from them that could be felt by anyone in the room. Melia’s smile and positivity was contagious - simply just being near her had the ability to bring a good mood to anyone. It was no wonder that Jason was absolutely in love with her. She had one of those glows about her, the kind that once it’s experienced, you are profoundly changed. It gives you a renewed hope and love for life. After many years of laughter and love, Melia became ill. Despite all of the positivity and optimism surrounding her health, Melia eventually lost her life, leaving a void in the hearts of those who loved her so dearly.

As a tribute to his beautiful wife, Jason wanted to create a piece for his daughter using Melia’s jewelry. As a first-year Clemson student, Jason knew she would adore the custom 18K Gold & Diamond pendant that Michael designed and hand crafted for her. Aside from being able to represent her university and all of the incredible memories she will cherish of her college experience, she will be able to proudly hold Melia close to her heart and forever share a connection with her through their shared piece of jewelry.

Featured Artist
We're proud to have our newest featured artist, Donald MacLachlan in the shop!
Nature and the world around always fascinated Donald. He never knew where the next inspiration would come from, so he is careful to pay attention to whatever his eye is drawn to. It may be as simple as the lines in the pavement on the street while walking his dogs or as complex as the heavens on a starry night. Whatever it is, he has learned to interpret it in his work with metals and stones and to push it to the limits of his skill and imagination.
