A son and his father were walking in the mountains. Suddenly, the son falls, hurts himself, and screams: "AAAhhhhh!! To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhh."
Curious, he yells: "Who are you?" and he receives the answer: "Who are you?"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!" of which he receives the answer "Coward!"
He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention." And then he screams at the mountain: "I admire you!" The voice answers" "I admire you!" Again the man screams: You are the champion! The voice answers: "You are the champion!"
The boy is surprised but does not understand.
Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart."
Typically, when one hears the word "February," – references of "love" start flowing thru every social media platform. Retailers are blasting our emails with the perfect "gift" items to show your love. The perfect gift is a gift one cannot purchase that comes from our hearts and reflects our actions, and that…is the gift of Optimism. Time and time again, it has been stated that Optimism is incredibly attractive – but when references are made towards romance and Optimists, it brings about giggles and laughter. Science has proven that Optimism, love, and romance go hand in hand. The evidence shows if you have an optimistic partner in life, you've hit the jackpot. If you're single, on that first date, ask the question "What makes you Optimistic?" and if there's no answer - make that the last date. Personally, I am thankful I hit the jackpot.
The month of February is the perfect time to spread Optimism, from International Optimist Day, February 3rd, to Valentine's Day, and all the days following. We have the opportunity to share in the Echo of Life, to give through our actions, and to show the world what makes us all Optimistic through our love, kindness, and positive thoughts.
