Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

This Sunday, on feast of Christ the King and the last day of our liturgical year, we also welcome 10 adults seeking baptism or to be received into the Catholic Church at Easter. At the 9:30am mass, we will formally welcome them in a moving ceremony, when we mark them with the sign of the cross upon their bodies.

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving and give thanks to God for His many gifts, please accept our thanks for participating in our Thanksgiving and Hygiene Drives.

On November 12, 2025, and for the first time in 12 years, the U.S. bishops issued a Special Message addressing their concern for the evolving situation impacting immigrants in the United States. Collectively, the bishops have invoked this particularly urgent way of speaking as a body of bishops.

We published the text last week. Here, some of the bishops give voice to the message, which advocates for a meaningful reform of immigration laws and the recognition of the fundamental dignity of all persons, including immigrants.

Our own bishop, Archbishop Gomez has long advocated for immigration policy reform. Here's an article just published in the archdiocesan newsletter, Angelus, in which he summarizes the issues, which motivated the bishops' to issue their Special Message: Beyond Deportations: There is still a way forward on immigration reform.

On behalf of all Paulists, we ask God's blessing upon you and your loved ones with this Thanksgiving Day Prayer:

Lord, we thank you for the goodness of our people and

for the spirit of justice that fills this nation.

We thank you for the beauty and fullness of the

land and the challenge of the cities.

We thank you for our work and our rest,

for one another, and for our homes.

We thank you, Lord: accept our thanksgiving on this day.

We pray and give thanks through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Peace, Father Gil
