Dear Coalition,
Today, on Veterans Day, we pause to honor the extraordinary men and women who have served in our nation's armed forces. Their unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and courage have protected our freedoms and shaped the very foundation of our country. To all veterans in our community and beyond: we extend our deepest gratitude for your service, your sacrifice, and your continued contributions to our society.
Veterans Day reminds us not only to express our thanks but also to reaffirm our commitment to supporting our veterans long after their service ends. Psychedelic medicine offers a promising avenue for addressing the unique mental health challenges veterans face, helping them find healing, connection, and renewed purpose. It's in this spirit, we're honored to announce three special events coming up this month:
NCPM co-founder and Marine veteran Bruno Moya will be joining the speaker panel for East Forest’s “Music for Mushrooms” film showing in Las Vegas this Wednesday, November 13th. “Music for Mushrooms,” serves as an 82-minute narrative tribute, highlighting the transformative synergy between art and introspection. This film captures the journey of East Forest, a shamanistic musician and collaborator of the late Ram Dass, whose innovative fusion of music and guided psychedelic experiences offers a sanctuary for healing in a fragmented world.
On Friday, November 15th, NCPM president and retired Navy SEAL, Jon Dalton, will be presenting for Sierra Psychedelic’s monthly talk on “Breaking the Stigma: A Navy SEAL’s Perspective." Drawing from his remarkable military background and personal experiences, Jon will share his compelling journey and discuss how alternative therapeutic approaches are showing promise in addressing the complex mental health challenges many veterans face. Jon's unique perspective as both a veteran and advocate offers valuable insights into the future of mental health care for those who've served our country. Jon was also featured on the latest episode of Behind the Shield Podcast, speaking on Operation Red Wings, Prohibition, and Psychedelics.
Last but not least, we are thrilled to invite you to join an important conversation, ‘Revolutionizing Mental Health: Psychedelic Therapy Solutions for First Responders and Veterans’ on November 21st with three incredible experts on mental health solutions: Dr. Clarence Cutsforth, Hotshot Superintendent Ben Strahan & a special guest to be announced. In our fast-paced world, managing mental health and stress is essential for everyone, especially the first responders, veterans, and their families. Many individuals face intense challenges without the right solutions or guidance to help them thrive. Let's explore ways to overcome these obstacles and build resilience together!
Join us in supporting and honoring our veterans--not just today, but every day! Scroll down for more information on each of these wonderful offerings.
In psychedelic service,
- The NCPM Team
