Public Comment Wanted: Stop the ICE Warehouse WC

As you know, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is attempting to convert an 825,000-square-foot industrial warehouse in Williamsport, MD into a massive ICE detention facility despite overwhelming environmental, infrastructure, and human rights concerns. Free Bibles

Christ’s Reformed Church in Hagerstown was gifted a large collection of new Holy Bibles, "placed by The Gideons." At this time, they do not have a need for them. Anyone interested can contact the church office from 9am-12pm, at 301-733-4145, to get more info and set up a pick up time.

Summer Activities Calendars available. August info needed.

HARC's June & July calendars of free and low-cost children's activities are ready! They are chock full of VBS and other fun programs. See our website for the latest versions. Programs for August still wanted! Please send information to Charlotte at harcnewsflash@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Immigrant Support

HARC is partnering with the Western MD Immigrant Rights Collective (IRC) to help immigrant families with children who are struggling to survive due to I.C.E. detainment. While IRC employs volunteers in on-the-ground efforts, HARC has started an Immigrant Support Fund to help with some financial needs, including legal and basic needs. Donations can be made through our website (use drop-down menu to designate the funds) or mail a check to HARC. To volunteer, fill out IRC's online form.

Refugee Welcome Network continues to welcome and support newcomers as they transition to life in the U.S. in Washington County. We are currently in need of the following for families: window air conditioning units, love seats or small/narrow couches, lamps, small kitchen tables & chairs, upholstered chairs, mixers, kitchen utensils and plates. If you have items to donate, please contact elizabeth@harccoalition.org.
