Lighthouse After-School Program Starts Strong


HARC’s Lighthouse After-School Program has kicked off the 2025-26 school year with eight after-school “clubs” in 6 schools, filling 21 time slots. These programs will serve more than 300 children this marking period with educational, life skills and skills, and enrichment opportunities in partnership with Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) this marking period.

Chef/Cook Needed


Shepherd's Spring Camp & Retreat Center is seeking a full-time, year round chef/cook to join their team as the Food Director. Cook for large groups (40-120) and summer camp, buffet style. Weekends and evenings required; hours fluctuate based on scheduled retreats and school groups. Must pass a background check. "Live Your Dream": Education & Training Awards for Women


The Soroptimist "Live Your Dream: Education & Training Awards for Women program provides cash grants to women who are working to better their lives through additional schooling and skills training. Download the flyer to see if you are eligible to apply.

For many families, managing day-to-day expenses while planning for the future can be a real challenge. The Family Scholarship Program, offered by Bester Community of Hope (BCOH), was created to help families ineligible for other key assistance cover essentials while working toward long-term financial stability. Selected families will receive $700 per month for up to 24 months, plus $300 per month in a savings account that becomes available at the end of the program.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church continues The Manna Project Boonsboro food giveaway. Fifty (50) bags valued at $20 each will contain pantry items and will be given away first-come first-serve on the first Saturday of each month through December. HARC Meeting: Rising To Learn

In October, HARC welcomes Dottie Gruler, Chairperson for Rising To Learn, to share about this new organization dedicated to ensuring children in Washington County Public Schools have the access and opportunity to reach that unlimited potential in their education. Join us for lunch and fellowship along with the presentation. A free will offering basket will be out for donations toward the meal. RSVP requested by Friday, October 10 at noon so we can get a count for lunch and other activities.

End of Life Planning Event
