MILESTONE MOMENT

Honolulu and HART Sign Amended Full Funding Grant

FFGA Signing

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi and HART Executive Director and CEO Lori Kahikina signed the Amended Full Funding Grant Agreement (FFGA) with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), unlocking the first federal funding for the Honolulu rail transit project since 2017. The agreement, a critical step forward, reaffirms $744 million in funding. Mayor Blangiardi sees it as a milestone, while Kahikina acknowledges the collaboration with FTA, Mayor, Congressional delegation, HART Board, and City Council.

The executed agreement releases the initial $125 million, with the next $250 million upon the City Center Guideway and Stations contract award.

Monday Traffic Update

CCUR IV - Dillingham

HART and Nan, Inc. would like to remind the public of ongoing City Center Utilities Relocation (CCUR) work in the Kalihi area. For the safety of the public and our construction crews, Kamehameha Highway and Dillingham Boulevard between Middle Street and Kaaahi Street is reduced to one lane in each direction 24/7. Left turns onto the intersecting streets and coming in and out of driveways is prohibited.

In addition, work during the evening hours will require the mauka and makai lanes at the intersecting streets to be closed from 7 pm to 5 am on weeknights, and weekends as needed.

Bus stops, pedestrian walkways, and access to properties is maintained at all times.
