On Monday, October 4, HART's Interim Executive Director and CEO Lori Kahikina P.E. provided a project overview and construction update to the Honolulu Sunrise Rotary Club. Topics of discussion included the Dillingham Boulevard Mauka Shift and an update on the progress of station construction with the first nine stations from Kualaka’i (East Kapolei) Station to Hālawa (Aloha Stadium) Station nearing completion, as well as the next four stations being constructed within the Airport Guideway and Stations contract segment.

Monday Traffic Update
The westbound lanes of Nimitz Highway will be closed intermittently between the Kalihi Stream and the Nimitz Viaduct beginning Sunday, October 10, 2021 through Thursday, October 21, 2021. These closures will occur overnight between the hours of 8 pm to 4 am.

The H-1 Freeway on-ramp will remain open to motorists travelling on Nimitz Highway.

Motorists on westbound Nimitz Highway wishing to continue on Nimitz Highway under the Viaduct will be detoured via Pu’uhale Road and westbound Dillingham Boulevard and Kamehameha Highway. Motorists traveling from Sand Island Access Road towards Nimitz Highway under the Viaduct will be detoured onto Mokauea Street, then westbound Dillingham Boulevard and Kamehameha Highway.

Please be aware of changing roadway conditions and speed limits while traveling through construction areas. Mahalo!
