Study Abroad
We want to make it easier for students to understand the process of study abroad by providing information and connecting them to resources.
Why should I study abroad?
Engage in language and cultural scholarship within its geographic context.
Experience new cultures to broaden and challenge your perspectives.
Make new friends and lifelong memories.
What are the most common programs?
Exchanges/Direct Enrollment:students enroll individually at a partner university and are not part of a cohort of students traveling abroad at the same time.
Partner Programs: students individually study at third-party centers and universities.
The above programs are the most common- learn about all program types here.
How do I make sure my courses apply to my degree requirements?
Before leaving, work with an adviser to confirm how your credit will apply to your degree.
When you return, use the "Receiving Credits Post-Program" webpage to convert your FSTUDY 300/303 credit to UW equivalents. This must be converted in order to graduate.
