Congratulations on being almost done with Winter Quarter 2025! During finals week, don't forget to balance studying with fun activities. In this newsletter, we'll be sharing important reminders for finals week, Spring quarter, and graduation including:


  • Key dates and information for dropping classes, changing grades, and previewing Spring quarter.
  • Upcoming events and program deadlines.
  • A shoutout to UW Recreation where you can find ways to de-stress before the start of Spring quarter.

Key Upcoming Dates Before End of Winter Quarter

 

Dropping Courses


  • Need to drop a course? Friday, March 14th is the deadline for students to drop courses for Winter 2025.
  • Use your self-service drop if you haven't dropped a course yet.
  • Use the Current Quarter Drop (CQD) process to drop more than one class or fully withdraw. Students whose enrollment requires full-time status must use the CQD process to drop any classes.

Changing Grades


  • Need to change grade options for a course? Friday, March 21st is the deadline for students to change to or from S/NS grades for Winter 2025.
  • Numerical (0.00-4.00) grades count towards your degree and impact your overall GPA.
  • Satisfactory/Non-Satisfactory grades are not applied to degree/major requirements or your GPA.
  • Every change will have a $20 fee and can be made on your registration page

March 22: Forest Bathing

at Washington Park Aboretum



Join UW Botanic Gardens and Cascadia Forest Therapy for a unique forest bathing opportunity in the Washington Park Arboretum. Forest bathing has been popular in Japan for decades and is gaining momentum in the US. The practice encourages you to move in nature at a slower pace and take in the atmosphere around you. Join this stress reducing event for $25 once the quarter wraps up! Advance registration required.

March 26: NALCAP Application Deadline


The North American Language and Culture Assistants Program is an exciting opportunity for cultural immersion in Spain. Participants work as language assistants in public schools across Spain, teaching English for 12-16 hours per week from Oct. to May. Participants get a monthly stipend, health insurance, and the chance to explore Europe. NALCAP is a unique cultural exchange experience and opportunity for professional growth. Apply by March 26.


March 28: Silkroad Ensemble: Uplifted Voices



Grammy Award-winning Silkroad Ensemble presents Uplifted Voices, a captivating showcase of diverse musical traditions. This program features talented performer-composers from around the world, including Pura Fé, Haruka Fujii, Maeve Gilchrist, Karen Ouzounian, Layale Chaker, and Mazz Swift. Their unique compositions blend ancestral sounds with contemporary innovation, offering fresh perspectives on musical heritage and cultural storytelling. Get tickets here.
