We are so excited about our upcoming Brazos River Canoeing Adventure, and we hope you have made plans to join us! If you have not made your reservation, please do so TODAY! Canoes must be reserved, and this is one campout where space is limited. **Since we all missed the 5th grade spring campout, we will go over canoe basics before we get you on the river.
WHO: 6th graders and their dads
WHAT: Canoeing on the Brazos River
WHEN: Sept 26 - 27
WHERE: Brazos River north of Palo Pinto
WHY: To spend time with your son, strengthening bonds and making lifelong memories!
We will have a video pre-campout meeting sent on Monday, Aug 31.
We will be abiding by CDC social distancing protocols. For more information please read HERE
If you have not picked up your t-shirts, Please let us know and we will arrange a time and way to get them to you.
The purpose of this meeting is to demonstrate what gear to take and how to efficiently pack it in a canoe! Most of the gear you already own. We will be showing you the three levels of how to pack, starting with packing it all in simple trash bags!
I know that some of you will be coming directly from work, but please bring your son if possible. Packing and securing a canoe is a team sport so it would be great to have the sons involved!
We will have packets prepared containing the agenda, gear lists, maps, and directions. If you have friends who are thinking about joining HATS, PLEASE bring them to this meeting and get them started in the program. They do not need any prior experience!
The investment for the canoe trip is $280 per team. Please hit the REGISTER NOW button below to sign up and pay, or you can mail or bring a check, payable to HATS
