Teenagers in Grades 8-12 are invited to participate in a multi-faceted ministry at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church. You're encouraged to join Youth Director Rick Belbutoski and other adult leaders for a variety of ministries, events, and ways to serve your neighbor in the name of Jesus Christ.
Hello Hennepin Youth and Families,

This has been a tough week for many Minnesotans. My wife and I made the difficult choice to take our two daughters out of daycare this week, which has made both our jobs more difficult. I know the youth continue to balance virtual school while parents continue to try and work in most homes. It's hard.

Despite the struggles, I think it's important to continue to carve out times to be grateful and celebrate the season. There are some good ways to do that below. I hope to see you virtually very soon!

Grace and Peace,

Rick

Virtual Angel Tree is Up!
Monday, Nov 16, through Monday, December 7

Every year Hennepin partners with Refugee Services at the Minnesota Council of Churches to provide Christmas gifts for children who have resettled in the Twin Cities over the past year. Every year, these families are blessed by the generosity of the Hennepin community. It has been a tough year for so many, and especially for those who are new to our country.

To minimize health risks for all, we're going virtual with the Angel Tree gift assignments this year.

Please click on this link to sign up to shop for one these children, or for a whole family. Please deliver unwrapped gifts to the East Entry of Hennepin by Monday, December 7.

Refugee Services recommends shopping for something warm (hats, scarves, gloves, warm socks), something fun (toys, games, soccer balls, cell phone chargers, ear buds, etc), and something for learning (games, books, puzzles, etc.)

Thank you for being a blessing!
Care Packages are Coming to College Students Soon!

We plan to send care packages to our 18-22 year - old to remind them that we care about them and to provide a bit of fun at a time of year when they may be studying, working long hours during this unprecedented time. If you know of someone who should receive a care package and you have not already been contacted, please email Debra Hovland at hovla003@gmail.com and provide her with the person's name and address to send it to between Thanksgiving and the end of the first week of December  If you'd like to support this effort with a financial donation, please send a check to Rick Belbutoski at the church (511 Groveland Ave. Minneapolis 55403) and put Care Package on the memo line.
