IT'S BEEN A FANTASTIC, FUN-FILLED YEAR!
As we wrap up the final week of school, I must pause and reflect upon what a great year it has been at Highlands! We've started new programs and kept many other programs & events that have brought us joy and has helped us to make great academic progress.
In the coming year, we look forward to the construction of our new science/flex lab as well as the new dual language immersion program that will begin with two Kindergarten classes. This program brings new families to Highlands, who are very excited to be with us!
We are saying "goodbye" to several staff members who are either retiring or moving forward towards new adventures. As you may already know, Mr. Flores, our head custodian; Mrs. Kavanagh, our Kindergarten teacher; Mrs. Debra Dall & Mrs. Sue Orifice, campus supervisors; and Mrs. Dionne Weiner, library clerk will be enjoying retirement and all that it has to offer. We will certainly miss each of them and the contributions that they have made to Highlands Elementary.
We also have staff members who are moving on towards different adventures. Mrs. Cohn, Miss Dickerson and Mrs. Flores will be transferring to different schools. We wish each of them the very best as they make their impact at new schools, with wonderful opportunities ahead of them!
I wish each of you the very best of summers to relax and enjoy your wonderful children. I will be taking a few weeks off to also be with my family; we are traveling a short ways to spend time in Newport Beach and Mondos Beach.
If you need anything, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org; I will be back in the office mid July.
Again, have a wonderful summer and thank you for entrusting us with your wonderful children!
PERFECT ATTENDANCE... WOW!
This morning we honored 15 students for having PERFECT ATTENDANCE, an incredible accomplishment! We honored each student in front of the school and presented each with a very special medal! Great job, Hawks!
180 DAYS! Whoop! Whoop!
