Some students moving back to campus from out-of-state may have to quarantine for up to 14 days as per Massachusetts and Brandeis policy. Dealing with the challenges of COVID-19 and the changes implemented for the fall semester may add to the stresses that we normally feel when starting a new semester. In difficult and traumatic times, developing strategies for coping and self-care is important. HAWP intern Hannah Jacobson ‘22, recommends stress management strategies to use in this unusual semester.

Self-compassion and self-forgiveness can sometimes be overlooked aspects of our wellness. As we think about staying active, getting enough sleep, and eating well in order to support our wellness, we must remember that being kind and compassionate to ourselves is also important. HAWP intern Michelle Cheng ‘22, explains the importance of practicing self-compassion and forgiving ourselves to support our health and wellness.

Stress Less Saturday
Every Saturday, the HAWP Instagram (@brandeiswellness) features a member of the Brandeis community and shares what they like to do in order to de-stress. We are looking for more Brandeis community members to feature!
Join HAWP for an affirming and interactive workshop debunking commonly-held myths about sexuality. In this workshop, participants are invited to explore their individual feelings, values, preferences and boundaries regarding their sexual selves. Participants have the option to participate privately via Zoom.
In this interactive workshop, participants will learn strategies for cultivating body positivity, and receive more information about Body Positive Brandeis groups being offered this fall. Body Positive Brandeis honors the diversity of our community and is open to students of all genders and identities.
