What will the price structure be for playwriting classes?

Playwriting Classes at Levels 1, 2 and 3 will have a class fee of $495. The Studio Practice Playwriting Seminar taught by Donna de Matteo will be priced at $575.

As an international student, I am concerned about my speech - not only pronunciation but also intonation. Will the new program offer an American Intonation Speech class?

Intonation will be an essential part of the Speech curriculum. It will be addressed in Speech classes at Levels 2 and 3.

Currently in Acting on Camera classes we never start shooting right away, as it sometimes takes 30 minutes for the equipment to be set up. Also, we are not able to watch our scenes at home, unlike students from other schools with film acting classes. How will HB manage these concerns?

On Camera Labs will be extended to 3 hours in length and class sizes will be kept smaller to allow students more personalized attention and opportunities to work. Additionally, there will be time in the space before class for video technicians to set up the equipment, which they will be encouraged to do. Thank you for your suggestion that we make class footage available for home viewing - we will take this request into consideration.

HB Studio began in 1945 and aims for a meaningful dramatic expression of the times and country in which we live. To help establish a theatre of experimentation based on classic tradition, the Studio is dedicated to the development of individual artists, who may actively contribute to a theatre of national character. Conceived as an artistic and working home, it offers an outlet for practice and growth for the professional theatre artist, and an opportunity for the young to establish roots in their intended craft. The Studio's guiding principle is creative freedom, which has as its logical consequence responsibility to a noble art.  Learn more at www.hbstudio.org.
