Canon la Chapelle
Canon la Chapelle 2018: 70% Merlot + 30% Cabernet Franc. The vineyards for this small family owned estate are located in the commune of Fronsac. The location is called “La Côte Canon” which is the name of a site of an old stronghold from the time of Charlemagne. The site was a privileged place to defend Aquitaine from foreign invasions. Cannons prevented the passage of enemy boats on the Dorgogne. The estate covers 10 hectares of high plateau and clay-limestone slopes with excellent southern sun exposure.
Deep garnet in color, the nose is filled with blackberry, candied raspberry, sweet spice and a hint of truffle. The palate is round and velvety. The finish is earthy & fruity with pleasant notes of cocoa, cherry and spices.
