Château Roquefort

Château Roquefort: The Château Roquefort winemaking estate is owned by the Bellanger Family and covers 240 hectares (including 100 hectares of grape vines) at the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers between the Garonne and the Dordogne, not far from Saint-Émilion. This magnificent region is known by some as ‘little Tuscany’. The estate has been producing high-quality Bordeaux wines and exceptional cuvees for more than 40 years.

Château Roquefort Merlot 2018: 100% Merlot grown on the limestone plateau of Roquefort in the Entre-deux-Mers region.

"With fruit from La Morra, this shows dark concentration and rich textural support. The bouquest is redolent of plum, blackberry, spice, tar and grilled herb. There is a fun, floral tone and a touch of candied orange peel or apricot. This is a robust Barolo with an almost full-bodied apprach and some extra oomph in terms of its tannins."

"This definitely treads toward the darker and more saturated side of the Nebbiolo spectrum. That extra notch of color richness and flavor concentation is a natural consequence of a vintage with dry heat that resulted in smaller and denser berries. This wine is further saddled with oak spice and toast that appear with a little mor intensity in this edition. All these factors contribute to a more accessible, medium-term wine."
