Discuss First Amendment with High Schoolers for Law Day This Fall
The HBA Law Week Committee is seeking volunteers for its dialogue program to visit local high schools and discuss the topic "Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society" with students. Adopt a Family for AIDS Outreach Holiday Gift Drive
The HBA AIDS Outreach Committee is asking you and your organization to "adopt" (purchase gifts for) a local HIV/AIDS-affected family or individual in need this holiday season. Submit the form at www.hba.org/adoptafamily by October 11. For more information, visit the committee's webpage.
Collect Clothing, Diapers, Luggage & Funds for Houstonians in Need
The Campaign for the Homeless Committee is accepting clothing, disposable diapers, soft luggage and monetary donations for its annual drive. Click here to submit the participation form and to learn more. Contribute funds at www.hba.org/clothingdrive. Collect donations at your office throughout October and drop off items November 4-16.
Beautify Houston Botanic Garden with L4BH
The HBA's Lawyers for a Beautiful Houston (L4BH) Committee's first event of the bar year is Saturday, November 9 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Help the committee perform horticultural tasks and site beautification at the new Houston Botanic Garden. All ages welcome. Click here to RSVP.
