A Humbling Tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

On July 11, 2026, our members and guests experienced a truly unforgettable and humbling moment at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

Veterans: Terri Boone, MSG, U.S. Army (Retired), Aaron Dickerson, SGT, WVARNG, and Kevin Boone, SPC, U.S. Army, were joined by JR Marshall—son of the late John Marshall, who served as a Tomb Sentinel from 1951 to 1954—in the distinguished honor of laying a wreath.

Doug and Jamie Burch, Connie Marshall, and Angela Dickerson were also in attendance as we paid tribute to the courage, service, and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes.

It was a powerful and meaningful experience that will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of attending.

A Lasting Tribute to Two Remarkable Leaders

The Home Builders Association of West Virginia is honored to unveil a memorial plaque at the HBAWV State Office in remembrance of Beth Thomasson and Regina Skeen, two dedicated Past Executive Officers whose leadership, passion, and unwavering commitment helped shape the association we know today. This permanent tribute stands as a symbol of our gratitude for the countless hours they devoted to serving our members, strengthening our organization, and advancing the home building industry throughout West Virginia. Their legacy will continue to inspire future generations of HBAWV leaders.

A special thank you goes to Matt Aldridge and John Kopyscianski for taking time out of their already demanding schedules to ensure this memorial project was completed with the care, professionalism, and respect it deserved. Your willingness to help preserve the legacy of Beth and Regina is deeply appreciated.

Their names may now be etched in bronze, but their impact on HBAWV will forever be etched in our hearts.
