We launched our Mustang Meet & Eat program with alumnae who joined us on-campus virtually and in person to talk about their work. A HUGE thank you to Danielle Milton '11 and Lauren Shulz '12 for being our pioneers in bringing this event to HC students. It is a great opportunity for alumni and current students to talk about career/life balance and how to reach goals.
We were honored to host a reception for the installation and dedication of
Odyssey
into our alumni art gallery in the Drake Performing Arts Center. We had a lovely evening with Jimmy Houston '01, his wife, parents, and our HC community prior to the Fine Arts Concert on the Lawn. We enjoyed the opportunity to thank and celebrate the legacy of families from our school's past and the vision of our current families at Houston Christian.
Our theater department has been hard at work preparing for The Diary of Anne Frank that opens on November 1. They will be transforming HC's blackbox into the modest attic that the Frank Family made their home during the war. Our students have not only memorized their lines, Bobby Linhart has brought speakers on WWII to them and the class visited the Holocaust Museum. The play means even more to our student actors!

On October 23, we officially welcomed Jimmy Houston's apes Rex (eyeglasses) and Rig (patch) to the Houston Christian campus! It was a nice dedication, along with the donors who made the purchase possible, before the Fall Concert to bring the arts together in a very meaningful and visible way.

was joined by his wife Kendra and parents, John and Glyndell, as we honored his achievements and thanked him for his family's faithfulness to the school. Ten HC families got together at gala last year to purchase the piece and donate it back to HC! We appreciate the DeLongchamps for spearheading the effort and the other 9 families for participating!
Odyssey
is displayed in the Weiss Family Foyer in the Drake Performing Arts Center. This piece represents the third alumni piece that has been added to our collection and we are hoping for more!

We enjoyed catching up with all of our alumni at the football game on October 19th, we had amazing parent volunteers who helped decorate and cater food from Chuy's!
The Class of 2013 reunited after 5 years at the football game and met up with 20 classmates at McIntyre's in the Heights!

Mustang Classic Golf Tournament
|
This was our largest Mustang Classic Golf Tournament yet! 23 teams signed up to play, including three alumni teams that competed in this year's Mustang Classic!
Everyone had a blast taking a day to play some golf, eat some barbecue, and try to win some prizes along the way!
We added a paint party and a silent auction to the event. Every painter walked away with a masterpiece!

Danielle Milton '11
is a Lead Digital Strategist at Google where she helps up and coming businesses advertise online more efficiently and effectively. She hails from Houston, TX and is a proud graduate of Houston Christian High School and Baylor University (2016). She has two dogs: Nala (Golden Retriever) and Olive (Australian Shepherd) that her and her college sweetheart rescued while both attending Baylor University. She now lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan but travels all over the country working with fast-growing clients. Danielle is passionate about the Fashion and Beauty Industry and will be moving to New York City one day soon.
