CISA Active Shooter Webinar March 2025

Date: Wednesday, March 12, 2025

Time: 1:00 p.m. Central Time

THIS IS NOT A TACTICAL TRAINING COURSE

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Region 7, (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska) invites you to join a two hour security webinar to enhance your organization’s resilience in case of an active shooter incident.

Preparing employees for a potential active shooter event is an integral component of an organization’s incident response planning. Because active shooter incidents are unpredictable and evolve quickly, preparing for and knowing what to do in an active shooter situation can be the difference between life and death. Every second counts.

Objectives:

  • Provide information about best practices, communications protocols, and resources that will assist stakeholders to develop or enhance their emergency planning, preparedness, and response to active shooter incidents.
  • Discuss the elements of active shooter incident response planning with guidance from expert instructors.
  • Describe common behaviors, conditions, and situations associated with active shooter events.

Agenda Overview:

  • Recognition: Defining the threat
  • Prevention: Strategies to help prevent an incident
  • Protection: Security measure considerations
  • Mitigation: Actions to minimize consequences
  • Response: Options/Expectations during an incident
  • Recovery: Transitioning to a “new normal”
  • Introduction to Emergency Action Plan development

REGISTRATION is FREE. Click here:  CISA Active Shooter Preparedness Webinar - Region 12 March 2025- IA/KS/MO/NE Registration [eventbrite.com]

HCAN

How long have you been with the organization?

6 weeks

What would you like to accomplish in your role?

This newly created position will address the critical need for healthcare professionals in underserved communities by managing recruitment efforts on behalf of participating health centers. Through targeted campaigns, strategic partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations, and personalized support throughout the hiring process, I will will connect participating health centers with skilled primary care providers, dentists, behavioral health professionals, advanced practice providers, administrative staff, and executive leaders as requested by the health centers.

What is the best part of your job?

With over 10 years of experience in recruiting, the most rewarding part of my job is helping people and making a positive impact on their lives, whether or not they ultimately secure a role. It’s incredibly fulfilling to contribute, even in a small way, to improving access to care and supporting healthier communities.

Tell us a little more about you (interests, hobbies, family etc.)

I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and our three dogs. I love cooking, baking, and trying out new recipes. In the warmer weather you can find me outside working on landscaping projects, planting flowers, or relaxing by the pool.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

There are lots of places on the list but I think our next trip may be to Costa Rica.
