Role of Men in Preventing Domestic Violence
When: Wed, June 22 Time: 9am-12pm Where:Baltimore-Washington Conference United Methodist Church Mission Center (11711 E Market Place, Fulton)
Domestic violence and sexual assault are far too often viewed as a female-centered issue; one over which men have little voice and a lesser role to play.
But this viewpoint substantially diminishes the important role men and boys should play in the prevention of violence.
Join the Howard County Coalition to End Intimate Partner Violence as we explore important questions about healthy masculinity and ways in which men and boys can act to diminish the levels of violence within our community. Please
register online for this FREE event. CEUs are available upon request. For more information, please contact HopeWorks Director of Community Engagement, Vanita Leatherwood, by
email or by calling

Conservation Stewardship: Basketgrass Blitz
When: Tue, June 28 Time: 9-11:30am Where: Trotter Rd Entrance of the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area
Wavyleaf basketgrass is our newest invasive
plant nemesis. Unfortunately, it is spreading
quickly. We need your help to remove this
pernicious plant, but we must be careful
about how we go about doing so. If the
plants are bearing seeds on this day, we'll
have to find something else to remove.
Japanese barberry is our backup option.
No experience necessary, one-time volunteers are welcome. Please carpool & tell us where you
saw this flyer!
