Fall Appraisal Roadshow: MONDAY!!
Do you have trash or treasure in your home? Join us for an
Appraisal Roadshow! We will have a gemologist and a generalist appraiser from
Paradigm Experts on hand on Monday, October 19 at 7:30pm to offer appraisals of up to two items per person. Items to consider bringing include
jewelry, silver, coins, time pieces, furniture, glass, porcelain, paintings, bronze, toys, documents, and any other items (except stamps). For each item, the entire audience will learn what it is, what it's worth, and what they can do with it. You do not need to bring an item to come and enjoy the show.
Register online
to have your items appraised or to attend the show. You may also purchase tickets at Kahler Hall.
Limited number of tickets are available
- General Admission Tickets are $19 for appraisal of up to two items plus light refreshments.
- Spectator Tickets are $7 to watch the "show" and enjoy light refreshments.
Doors open at 7:00pm Please arrive in plenty of time to check in and be seated by 7:30pm The show will begin promptly and items can not be added to the show once it has begun. ALL items will be appraised either during the allo
tted show time or after the session. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance through this link or in person at Kahler Hall to have your item(s) appraised.

FREE Conversational English Classes
The Harper's Choice Community Association, in partnership with FIRN, will offer FREE conversational English classes at Kahler Hall (5440 Old Tucker Row, Columbia) on Mondays from 6:30-8:30pm beginning on October 19. Classes are family friendly and appropriate for children in 2nd grade through adults. Children and adults will work in separate groups with FIRN volunteers. The US Navy Band Will Present a FREE Performance?
The United States Navy Band will conduct a free concert at Reservoir High School on Thu, Nov. 5 at 7pm. The FREE concert will honor veterans and will feature a wide variety of wind ensemble pieces including classics, marches, and patriotic favorites. This a special event that is open to the public. Lid Those Cans!
When placing trash out for collection, please use cans with tight-fitting lids to discourage birds, rodents and other pests from getting into your trash and making a mess. Trash should be left out for collection after
6 p.m. the evening prior to your collection day. Any trash left behind must be cleaned up by all the residents who use the collection point.
- Longfellow - Trash day is Monday, recycling is Thursday.
- Swansfield - Trash day is Friday, recycling is Wednesday.
- Most of Hobbit's Glen* - Trash day is Monday, recycling is Thursday.
*Hobbit's Glen addresses off Route 108 - Trash day is Tuesday, recycling is Friday.

Pantry Drive for HopeWorks
HopeWorks maintains a pantry that is available to clients who need assistance in acquiring essential food, personal care and household items.
Your assistance restocking shelves is needed on

from 10am-12pm at 5457 Twin Knolls Rd in Columbia. With your help, HopeWorks can continue providing this service to the women, children and men of our community who need it is much appreciated.

Come dressed in your favorite costume at our Halloween Extravaganza on Sun, Oct. 25 from 1:15-3:15pm. Enjoy an afternoon of skating, food, games and a chance to win cool prizes! Public session fees apply.

Architectural Committee Meetings
Changes made to the exterior of homes in Harper's Choice require approval of the Village Architectural Committee (AC). The AC meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm to review applications. The deadline to submit applications for approval is two weeks prior to the next meeting date. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for: 10/27, 11/10, 11/24.
