HCCF to match Indiana Arts Commission grant

This year, HCCF will continue matching eligible Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) grants to provide Harrison County residents access to quality arts and cultural activities. To request arts-related grant funding from HCCF, Harrison County-serving arts organizations and schools must complete the IAC’s grant application first and provide a copy of the full IAC application to HCCF by the posted deadline: Thursday, March 9 at 11:59 p.m. The IAC grant application is on the IAC’s online grant system, which can be accessed by using the link below.

HCCF will match a maximum of $5,000 to individual arts organizations or Harrison County schools that receive an IAC Arts Project Support (APS) grant award. The matching funds will help the organization or school present a larger project to the IAC.

The IAC APS grants support a distinct aspect of organization and school art activities, such as a one-time event or production; an exhibition; an educational seminar; or a series of related arts activities, such as art classes or training sessions. The IAC will notify its grant recipients by early July 2023.

For more information about the HCCF match for Indiana Arts Commission Arts Project Support grants, contact Anna Curts, HCCF Grants Manager, at 812-738-6668 or annac@hccfindiana.org.

Grant awarded to expand mental health services

During their February meeting, the HCCF Board of Directors awarded a $106,080 grant to Personal Counseling Services (PCS). The purpose of the grant is to expand mental health services to residents of Harrison County. Funding will be used to cover the costs of therapy sessions for those who are uninsured and underinsured.

The mission of PCS is to provide mental health services to everyone desiring wellness of body, mind, spirit, and community. The organization served 1,492 Harrison County residents in 2021. With family members, that is a total of 4,476 individuals served by PCS' mission in Harrison county alone.

PCS collaborates with Counsel House in Corydon, First Capital Christian in Corydon, and Palmyra United Methodist Church to provide locations locally where residents can receive mental health support in addition to their primary site in Clarksville.

Main Street Corydon establishes endowment fund

Main Street Corydon recently established an endowment fund with Harrison County Community Foundation. The primary purpose of an endowment is to provide a long-term and growing source of financial support for an organization or cause. A donor or organization can build an endowment fund by providing an initial gift followed by ongoing gifts. These donated funds are invested for the ongoing support of a cause or organization for many years to come.

The revenue earned through Main Street Corydon's endowment fund will support their mission to preserve, promote, and enhance the vibrancy of Historic Downtown Corydon.
