HCD Announces the new
Housing Accountability Letters Dashboard
The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is excited to release the Housing Accountability Unit Letters Dashboard — one source to access all letters issued by the Housing Accountability Unit.
The Housing Accountability Unit issues technical assistance and enforcement letters to local jurisdictions to ensure compliance with various state housing laws and to help build more housing more quickly and in more places throughout California.
Since Governor Newsom announced its formation in 2021, the Housing Accountability Unit has issued around 1,200 letters on topics including ADU ordinances, the Housing Accountability Act, housing element implementation, and Density Bonus Law.
These letters are now easily available and searchable (by jurisdiction, date, subject matter, and statutory reference) via the Housing Accountability Unit Letters Dashboard.
