As summer nears an end and the HealthCare Executive Group makes plans for the balance of 2022 and early 2023, HCEG has been fortunate to have contributed to and learned from involvement with several digital and in-person events with members of the HCEG Network, our partners, and current sponsors.

Our extensive pre-conference collaboration, session moderation, and presentations at the Healthcare Innovation Company’s inaugural thINc360 in-person event in May, our support for onsite member and sponsor networking at the AHIP 2022 conference in June, and involvement with WEDI’s 2022 Summer Forum have all helped raise confidence in HCEG’s return to its marquee in-person events: Executive Leadership Roundtables and Annual Forum.

I’m also pleased to share that HCEG is collaborating with past partners, HLTH and WEDI, on presentations at two upcoming, in-person events: WEDI’s 2022 National Conference in October and the HLTH 2022 conference in November. If you’re planning on participating in either of these events, we welcome the chance to discuss opportunities at these in-person events and to meet in person, particularly with our Executive Leadership Roundtable at HLTH 2022 in Las Vegas.

Read on for more about recent and upcoming in-person and virtual presentations, networking activities, and plans for an HCEG Annual Forum in 2023 Q1 or Q2.

Wishing you lasting health and happiness.

Health Plan Enrollment and Retention:
‘Growth & Innovation’ vs ‘Stability & Brilliant Basics’
What’s a good approach to addressing member enrollment and retention in government-sponsored and individual health plans? Pursuing ‘growth and innovation’ or achieving ‘stability and being brilliant at the basics?’ Participants in a series of roundtable discussions facilitated by Kevin Deutsch of Softheon seem to indicate a mix of both might be best.

Rounding Up the Roundtables

To share more on approaches to balancing ‘growth & innovation' and 'stability & brilliance on the basics’ associated with administering government-sponsored healthcare programs, a group of participants from the roundtable series on administering government-sponsored healthcare programs is being assembled to provide information, additional insight, examples, and best practices to create a special presentation.

This presentation is targeted to be released in mid-October around the time when an announcement from HHS regarding the current Public Health Emergency is scheduled to be made. Stay tuned for more.
Quality Measures Impact to Reimbursement & Shopping for Health Plans
Interoperability is Key in Achieving Higher HEDIS Scores and Star Ratings
Higher HEDIS scores and CMS Star Ratings are crucial to achieve full reimbursement and provide health plan members with the best care experience. Providing health plans with in-workflow access to the right data and tools to validate information across care activities and to fill real gaps in care helps providers to focus on outreach and treatment activities.

On Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PT, Surescripts presents a live webinar “Interoperability is Key in Achieving Higher HEDIS Scores and Star Ratings.”
WEDI’s 2022 National Conference
The WEDI 2022 National Conference hosted by HCEG partner WEDI returns to an in-person event in Washington D.C. on October 25th through 27th.

In addition to sessions focused on the federal healthcare perspective, health equity, data exchange, privacy & security, guiding principles in electronic payment and the No Surprises Act, this year’s conference opens with several WEDI workgroup meetings that attendees can join – whether a WEDI member or not. Registrants can learn about the latest projects and how WEDI’s workgroup members work together to address many of healthcare's most complicated issues.

Executive Leadership Roundtable
at HLTH 2022 Conference
Our 3rd Roundtable at the HLTH Conference
After hosting Executive Leadership Roundtables at both HLTH 2018 and HLTH 2019, HCEG is pleased to announce working with HLTH once-again to present an in-person roundtable at HLTH 2022 in Las Vegas. In collaboration with WEDI, HCEG is hosting an Executive Leadership Roundtable (ELR) on Wednesday, November 16th.

This extended session will focus on leadership, data, and interoperability aspects of health equity/SDoH, alternative payment models, and health policy.

Logistics are being defined with the HLTH team and the ELR will be complimentary and open to all HLTH 2022 attendees but requires separate registration with HCEG as brunch will be served.
