HCI Monthly News & Updates
Message from our Board Chair

“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” - Charles M. Schulz

This month oozes the theme of love with Valentine’s Day, Love
your Friend Day, even Love your Pet day! George Washington was born on Feb 11 th and Abraham Lincoln’s birthday is Feb 12 – two great Presidents who loved our country so much that they were willing to risk it all for their love of patriotism. Washington’s farewell speech was written to give reassurance to his country at the time he was stepping down at the end of his second term as President. “The name of American…must always exalt the just pride of patriotism more than any appellation derived from local discriminations.” He wanted to safeguard their hard-won union, pleading that we needed to remain united. Lincoln gave his well-known speech in Gettysburg at the height of the Civil War and reminded listeners – and those who remember it today – that ours is “a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”
That is good stuff right there. Two men of different times in history, sharing a love of their fellow man with one common theme – Unity and Love. With political ads surrounding us these days, caucuses in full swing, and lots of negative emotions taking over, we need to instead find a source of love. We all have a choice in who we vote for. We also have a choice in how we feel about it and each other. Love one another as you would want to be loved, find a common ground and strive for a better day. Then, on Feb 22 nd you can all get together and celebrate National Margarita Day! Cheers!

Love you all!!

River cruising with Mayflower Cruises & Tours is a spectacular way to see the world. Traveling on an inclusive river cruise with Mayflower allows your passengers to explore multiple countries with fabulous escorted shore excursions including headsets. River cruising allows passengers to travel in style without having to pack and unpack. Your travelers will love their modern and spacious cabins. They will delight in the delicious cuisine. All meals are included onboard and served with complimentary wine, beer and soda for lunch and dinner. All Mayflower river cruises include a free airfare promotion from your local airport to your selected destination that helps your travelers save big by depositing early. River cruise comps with Mayflower include one entire cabin (not just a single berth) with 15 passengers. This allows Club Directors to bring their spouse or another companion to enjoy the experience of river cruising with their group.

Mayflower is now offering free and discounted airfare promos on several land tours in 2020 and 2021. These tours are visiting a variety of destinations like London, Paris, Poland, New England, Yellowstone, Michigan and other destinations. Please ask your local Business Development Manager for more details about these programs.
Mayflower is very excited to be announcing a new revolutionary smaller ocean cruise ship at the upcoming Peer Group Conference this year. This ship will be able to access unique ports that other cruise lines can’t along the Mediterranean and Adriatic coasts and will have less passengers than most river cruises. They will be educating Club Directors with more details about this exciting new ship during their destination showcase so get ready to be blown away.

"I just took Connections Club on our first trip with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. We went to see the Tournament of Roses Parade. The trip idea came from Kent Van Roekel. I worked with Imelda and Kent on the pricing and the paperwork. Kent came to do our travel show and we signed up 17 members to join us. We all really enjoyed it. We had first class guides on the tour. It was very organized and well planned. I’m looking forward to working together on many more adventures with Mayflower Cruises & Tours," -Connie Francis, MidWestOne Bank (Dubuque, IA)

"Mayflower Cruises & Tours has been a great partner for the D.L. Evans Bank Premier Club. They are easy to work with, and are quick to respond when you have questions about your tour. They have gone above and beyond to ensure our customers are happy they chose to travel with our bank club. We look forward to doing business with the Mayflower Cruises & Tours for years to come." -Amy Evans, CBCD (Boise, ID)
“We booked our first overseas adventure with our group through Mayflower. We went on the Romantic Rhine and Moselle River Cruise in September of 2019, and had an amazing, seamless experience from start to finish. Kent and his team are very knowledgeable, understanding, responsive and easy to work with. Being our first time traveling overseas and flying with our group, we naturally had a lot of questions and concerns, and they were very patient with us and helped us more than they know. They definitely have a repeat customer with F & M Summit Club!” - Allison Whalen, F&M Community Bank (Preston, MN)
