2022 HCMA Membership Dues Renewals
The 2022 HCMA membership dues renewals were sent in early September by mail and email. HCMA dues can be paid by check, credit card, and online. You can also sign-up for automatic renewals by completing this form. 2022 Florida Legislative Session
The 2022 Florida Legislative Session is being held January 11 through March 11. Your HCMA Government Affairs Committee has compiled a list of priority issues and talking points which they will present to the Hillsborough Legislators in person at the Annual Legislative Luncheon on October 26th, in their local districts, and in Tallahassee during the Session. Watch future Enews editions for the completed list and further information.

Rule against surprise billing angers AMA, hospital groups
A new rule on surprise medical bills drew sharp criticism from physician and hospital groups for its tilt in favor of using previously established payment rates as a benchmark, but organizations representing insurers, consumers, and large employers praised this approach. Read more.

AMA releases 2022 CPT Code set
Innovative work to meet the urgent public health need for streamlined reporting and tracking of COVID-19 vaccinations is presented in the release of the 2022 Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code set published by the American Medical Association (AMA) (@AmerMedicalAssn). The annual update to the CPT code set incorporates a series of 15 vaccine-specific codes that are the model for efficiently reporting and tracking immunizations and administrative services against the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). HCMA women physicians celebrated Women in Medicine Month on September 23rd, via ZOOM, with special guest Judy Lisi, president of the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. They learned, among other things, that our Performing Arts Center is the third largest on the east coast behind the Lincoln Center (NYC) and the Kennedy Center (DC)!
