CT Signals Increased Scrutiny of Physician Practice Acquisition



HCMA's general counsel, Garfunkel Wild, PC, recently sent an Alert reminding physicians of the requirement for certain practice transactions need CON (Certificate of Need) approval. The CON depends on who the buyers are, the size of the practice being sold, and whether there are changes to governance.

Notification of State Attorney General of Material Change in the Medical Practice

Reminder: Group practice combinations that would result in a group practice of eight or more physicians must file a Notice of Material Change with the Office of the Attorney General, not the office of Health Strategy, at least 30 days prior to the effective date of the material change.

Annual Group Practice Filing



Group medical practices of thirty (30) or more physicians must complete the CT Group Practice Form, available of the Office of Health Strategy website. This form must be submitted to both the state attorney general's office and the Office of Health Strategy by January 15, annually, for the prior year.
