During these challenges times, it is inspiring to reflect and acknowledge the incredible commitment of our Humboldt County educators as each strives to improve the lives of students and our educational community through service, care, and advocacy. At HCOE we are proud to partner with you all and together share best practices, collaborate, and adapt.
One area of critical collaboration is the reopening of our school campuses to daily site-based instruction and activity. Thanks to the hard work of our Humboldt County Schools Roadmap to Recovery Advisory Committee, which is made up of 12 district superintendents, charter directors, public health and other leaders, we have made solid progress on developing a framework for districts to utilize as a planning document for the upcoming year.
It is clear that any form of return to school will need to focus on planning around three major areas of influence: Health and Safety, Teaching and Learning, and Resources and Finance. A critical goal within each focus area is to build common practice, consistency, and collaboration among Humboldt County schools. The Framework serves as a tool for embedding these key principles to assist district and school teams in planning for the reopening of our schools in the upcoming year.
My sincere gratitude for all who are working on this process, we look forward to fully releasing the framework in the near future.
