Monthly Blog :Truth and Reconciliation
On September 30th, we honoured Truth and Reconciliation Day - a moment to confront Canada’s historical injustices against Indigenous peoples. Our very own Indigenous Peer Support Coordinator, Nick Metivier took the time to share what this day means to him in this months edition of Maison Dieu Health Blog. Let’s commit to learning, advocating for change, and amplifying Indigenous voices.

Adventure Challenge!
This past weekend, @hdghfoundation put together a an amazing experience for all ages with The Adventure Challenge. It was a sunny day full of smiles at the Lakeside Park in Kingsville.
The challenge saw people put not only their bodies and mind to the test, but also their teamwork abilities. This made for a number of great team bonding, brought together by problem solving.
A special thank you to all the volunteers that helped put together this event sponsored by Liuana 625, Bell Media, Windsor-Essex Skilled Trades Counsel and Canadian Concrete. Thank you also to Meleg's orchard and BioSteel for the free samples and apples.

Construction Underway
In celebration of the construction of the new Outpatient Rehab Centre, members of the Outpatient Rehab Team came together for a photo to capture this exciting new beginning. HDGH will begin construction of our new 10,000-square-foot Outpatient Rehab on August 13, 2024.
The new HDGH Outpatient Rehab Clinic will provide a high level of quality outpatient rehab services to patients with complex neurological and physical disorders through a patient-centered, modernized facility and with highly trained staff and new technology. What does that mean? During this time, there will be closures including the main entrance to our Toldo Neurobehavioral Institute and parking.
Patients, staff and visitors are encouraged to use Lot B for parking, including accessible parking spots and the Dr. Tayfour Rehabilitation entrance to access services in the TNI building, as well as CPH building. How long will this last? Construction is expected to wrap up in October of 2025.

Inspiration Room
Thanks to hard work from Judy Lear-Zylstra and countless others on the HDGH staff, the Inspiration room in the Withdrawal Management building has went from a dream to reality.
Our very own Lead Spiritual Health Practitioner Hilton Gomes was there to lead a dedication of the room, along with local artist and firefighter Todd Stahl who donated three beautiful painting with inspiring messages behind them to be placed in the room.
This Inspiration room will serve as a safe space for people to come, practice the faith or their choice, find hope or simply unwind. A special thank you to all who made this possible, it will serve as a healing ground for many.
