35 Cities & Towns and 1 MILLION residents are covered under HEAL Resolutions
The HEAL Campaign would like to welcome Emporia, VA and Virginia Beach, VA to the HEAL Cities, Towns, and Counties Campaign for the Mid-Atlantic upon passing HEAL Resolutions in February and March 2015. With their commitment to the health, wellness, and prosperity of their communities, the HEAL Campaign now covers 1, 374, 182 residents across Maryland and Virginia!
Roll Out of HEAL Leaders Club - a Tiered Recognition System
To recognize and motivate local governments' continued achievement from the passing of a HEAL Resolution through the implementation of HEAL policies, the Campaign developed a new recognition system. This system will reward communities based on the quantity and quality of achievements - with each policy adopted and implemented, a community moves from basic membership to platinum status.
Read more about the HEAL Leaders Club on our website. The cutoff for recognition will be May 15 for Maryland campaign members and August 15 for Virginia campaign members and will coincide with the annual municipal league conference. Any step not documented and submitted to HEAL staff by these dates will be recognized in the following year.
Stay Tuned!
The HEAL Cities & Towns Campaign will be the featured cover story in the April edition of the Virginia Municipal League's monthly publication,
Virginia Town & City magazine. The issue will highlight member communities with insights from HEAL stakeholders.
Interested in Healthy Vending policies? The HEAL Campaign will host a
Healthy Vending webinar on May 13. Registration information will be sent in upcoming weeks.
