HEALTHeLINK ACHIEVES NCQA DATA AGGREGATOR VALIDATION STATUS
HEALTHeLINK is among the first health information exchanges in the country to participate in the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Data Aggregator Validation program. Having recently completed a pilot program along with two other New York State HIEs, HEALTHeLINK earned one year of validation status, which means it has the ability to share validated sources for standard supplemental data for use in measurement year 2020 HEDIS® reporting.

CMS NAMES HEALTHeLINK CPC+ DATA AGGREGATOR
HEALTHeLINK has been named the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) data aggregator for the Greater Buffalo Region by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The Greater Buffalo Region, encompassing Erie and Niagara counties, is one of 18 regions nationwide currently participating in CPC+. In addition to CMS, this public-private partnership includes 69 primary care practices and support from BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York and Independent Health.
Participating CPC+ practices will utilize HEALTHeLINK’s population health tool, HEALTHeOUTCOMES. This tool, which currently aggregates clinical and claims data, will also receive CMS Medicare FFS claims data beginning in early 2021 to be used for measures calculations. Having secure access to this data all in one place through HEALTHeOUTCOMES will help to inform each CPC+ practice on not only their treating patients’ medical history, but also on gaps in care, on utilization patterns, and cost of care to ultimately improve the delivery of comprehensive primary care and reduce the number of unnecessary services their patients receive.
If you’re a CPC+ practice, please contact HEALTHeLINK at pophealth@wnyhealthelink.com for more information and to schedule a demonstration of HEALTHeOUTCOMES.

NEW HEALTHeCOMMUNITY PORTAL
During the first quarter of 2021, HEALTHeLINK will release a new and improved HEALTHeCOMMUNITY Portal, the access and authentication gateway to HEALTHeLINK and HEALTHeNET. This new portal will have enhanced utility and security capability, along with an updated look and feel.
One of the key enhancements of the new portal will be a 100% self-serve password reset process. In order to use this functionality, a user will need to have a confirmed e-mail associated with their account, which will be required starting with the launch of the new portal. In advance of the release, we urge all Authorized Contacts to ensure each of their existing users are set up with a confirmed e-mail.

UPDATE TO CONSENT FORM POLICY
Effective January 1, 2021, HEALTHeLINK will ONLY accept consent forms that are computer generated. Any hand-printed forms that are received after January 1 will be considered invalid. HEALTHeLINK has several options available to participants to verify if a consent option has already been established, create a computer-generated form, and/or update a consent value in real-time. Please contact your account manager immediately if you are currently using hand-printed forms and want to continue to update HEALTHeLINK consents for your patients.
HOSPITAL EVENT NOTIFICATIONS
The new CMS Interoperability and Patient Access Rule effective May 2021, as a condition of participation, requires hospitals to send electronic admit, discharge, and transfer notifications to providers that have an established relationship with the patient. HEALTHeLINK is currently working with participating hospitals to establish a plan to meet this new regulatory requirement using our existing alert notification process. In addition, once these requirements are in place, providers will begin to receive more alerts on their patients, including alerts for patients they may not be subscribed to. For additional information, please contact your account manager.
Due to ongoing security concerns revolving around the Windows 7 operating system, HEALTHeLINK users will only be able to access HEALTHeLINK and HEALTHeNET using a Windows 7 computer until February 15, 2021. If your organization has purchased extended support and requires access to the HEALTHeCOMMUNITY Portal from a Windows 7 machine, please contact your account manager for more information on how to continue access. Reminders will be posted and sent out as those dates approach. We will also continue to post updated information on our website.

PRIVACY AND SECURITY AT HOME
The shift to working remotely has encountered many challenges over the past few months, but no matter where you access the HEALTHeCOMMUNITY Portal and its associated applications, remember to abide by all HEALTHeLINK Privacy and Security policies. While at home, make sure that you lock your workstation when not in use, do not share any passwords, only accept Duo two-factor authentication requests when you are logging in, and do not allow others to view your screen. All of these actions will help prevent unauthorized access to the HEALTHeCOMMUNITY Portal while many continue to work from a remote location.
