Live with National Alert Capability
HEALTHeLINK has gone live with the Patient Centered Data Home (PCDH) national network and is now able to send alerts in WNY to providers who have patients that are being treated outside of New York State. Also, there is the ability to route messages from across the country to other PCDH participating New York State Qualified Entities (Bronx RHIO, HealtheConnections, Healthix and the Rochester RHIO). This method of triggering episode alerts, which when delivered to the QE will notify providers a care event has occurred when the patient is away from home, and confirms the specific location of where care is taking place, enabling providers to initiate additional data exchanges to access real-time information from other HIEs from across the country.
PCDH is an initiative of the Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative (SHIEC), a national trade organization that includes more than 70 health information exchanges, that puts into practice the vision that clinical data should be available whenever and wherever care occurs and centered around the patient to improve patient care.
Outdated Operating Systems & Browsers
As operating systems and browsers become out of date and no longer receive support, they pose an increased security threat. As part of HEALTHeLINK'S ongoing enhancements to our security program, users will no longer be able to access the HEALTHeCOMMUNITY Portal with out-of-date operating systems and browsers effective July 1, 2019. Operating systems will be blocked one month after they no longer receive support by their developer and browsers will be blocked 6 months after they no longer receive support for minor releases. Notifications will be displayed on the portal warning users if their device is running an out of date browser or if their operating system is within one month of becoming out of date.
In the Community
On May 15, HEALTHeLINK participated in the first Nurses' Night of Celebration, honoring the many nurses and health care professionals who selflessly dedicate themselves for the comfort and care of the sick. More than 400 people attended the event held at Shea's Seneca, which benefited the Family Justice Center of Erie County.

Nurses_ Night of Celebration

On Saturday, June 1, Team HEALTHeLINK participated in the 2019 Tour de Cure: Buffalo Niagara to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Mike Utz served as team captain.

HEALTHeLINK Functionality
Do you need instant access to your patient records? With HEALTHeLINK'S patient record lookup, authorized users can access a patient's clinical record, providing instant access to information - such as lab tests, radiology reports, and medication history - that is crucial for care management. By having this information in advance, providers can more easily conduct pre-visit planning, order fewer repeat tests and make better medical decisions.
