May presented us with some tough medical challenges.
Sweet Terk's life took a serious turn when he suffered from severe vomiting and wouldn't eat. Doctors initially feared he'd swallowed something he shouldn't have, possibly string, leading to emergency surgery. What they found during the operation, however, stunned everyone: Terk's intestine was uniquely twisted around itself, resembling a barber pole. The surgeon, with 35 years of experience, had never witnessed such a condition. In a truly miraculous turn, they were able to untwist the intestine, and it returned to normal, then was secured with stitches. As if that weren't enough, it was also discovered that Terk possesses two spleens, with one smaller and not functioning. After a minor fever, he has fully recovered and is eager to find his forever home.
Margarita experienced a devastating abandonment after three years indoors, cruelly cast outside. Her suffering was compounded by a severe foot injury, reportedly inflicted by her own mother, leaving her unable to hunt or defend herself. By the time we were alerted, she'd spent three weeks fending for herself, severely emaciated. She's now slowly recuperating, and once stronger, will be evaluated for a possible leg amputation due to her inability to bear any weight on the injured limb.
If you have been following the hoarding situation then you know that we were able to get 42 cats out of a house. We are now working on getting them healthy and to the doctors. Those that have been given the thumbs up by the doctor have either been adopted or are now available for adoption. This will be a very long process.
Due to the number of new cats we took in, we are going through litter like crazy. We are in need of any kind of clumping litter, litter boxes and adult Fancy Feast Pate (not seafood) and adult dry Purina One cat food. You can help us by purchasing from our wish list here.
