HERE COMES SUMMER IN ASPEN!!!!
We are getting ready for summer in Aspen! Finally, the snow has melted in town and we can start the springtime clean up. Flower pots and gardens will start the week after Memorial Day and even our fun fountain opens in June! The creative structures built in the streets to get more people eating outside in winter are gone and we should see the sidewalk areas filled with unfettered tables again.

As in the past, our first big event in June is Food and Wine, followed by Jazz Aspen multi-venues headlined by KebMo, and the Aspen Ideas Fest. Do not miss the 4th of July Parade which includes race car displays and other clubs in the streets all afternoon! See our June schedule below. This time of year is still considered both mud and off season, so of course, it snowed almost a foot at the end of last week! Hopefully this helps protect us again summer fires. Let’s welcome summer --- lucky us to be HERE in our perfect bubble!!!
REAL ESTATE UPDATE

Will rising interest rates cause any changes in the extreme Aspen market? My theory is-MAYBE- if your big business needs an infusion of borrowed money…. will they sell the Aspen home? I really am expecting a correction in mid-valley. All national articles point to more inventory and higher interest rates with monthly payments up 42% causing a slow down in the “normal” U. S. market. At this time, Aspen inventory is still low, so it is still a Seller market. Look at the stats below at the number of sales. Actual sales volume is down about 40% with square footage prices soaring. You KNOW I will try to find you something special, UNLISTED!! I sold about $80,000,000 of unlisted properties from January through March by just making calls to long time friends and clients.
RESTAURANT UPDATES:
The restaurant shift is always fun this time of year, here is the latest:
1.    Wild Fig-moves next door into the space by the fountain
2.    Red Onion- Hunt announces who will run the new restaurant (CLICK)
3.    SuCasa/Eric’s Bar- will reopen once the new owners get their permit.
4.    Jimmy's- new owner's- Clark Oyster Bar Group plan to open this summer
5.    L’Hosteria- new owner's- Parc Aspen plan to open this summer
6.    In the near future, another Hillstone Group approved next to the Whitehouse Tavern.
