Phase-In Days

We would like your child’s introduction to school to be a positive, joyful experience. The phase-in program provides for a gradual introduction to Hermosa Montessori School and the school staff. This procedure encompasses shortening school hours over a period of three days. The modified schedule allows teachers to work with students to establish their daily routines. Special Announcement
Turning the page, the story continues...

¡Salud! to Sally on her retirement. Hold the “good-byes” and instead please join us as we roll out the red carpet, welcoming her in a new role as a volunteer in the classroom.

After what she described to be “many hours of deep contemplation,” Sally reached the decision to retire as a full-time classroom teacher. She stated, “It was not an easy decision to make but one based on many factors, including energy level and the desire to spend more time with family.” In making this decision, it was and is paramount to Sally to “maintain a connection with Hermosa that would allow continued contact with the children in the classroom.”

We are thrilled to share that Christine Schwindt has accepted Sally’s former position of Lead Teacher in the Primary “Young Gallery”. She is an exceptional and creative certified Montessori teacher, already quite familiar with the students she will be joining and the Hermosa community overall. Sally will be assisting Christine in the classroom as she transitions into the role of lead teacher at the beginning of this upcoming school year.

Dick Van Dyke said, “Retirement means doing what you have fun doing.”
Sally brings with her a genuine spirit of love and enjoyment we all so deeply appreciate.

Collectively, we look forward to a “joyous reconnection” with each of you.
It is indeed an honored partnership.

News in the E-II Neighborhood…

Megan’s desire to live closer to family has led her to accept a teaching position in Phoenix. We wish Megan and her family well in this happy transition.

We are truly excited that Lucy Ramirez has joined the E-II team as Lead Teacher in Sol Hall II. Lucy, who is fluent in Spanish, graduated from Liberty University and previously taught grades K-6. She actively enjoys cooking and photography, and is passionate about her family. Lucy’s excitement for teaching children is equally matched by her enthusiasm for life. This eagerness to experience living her life to the fullest has included swimming with sharks and whales in Cancun, as well as hot air balloon adventures.

Lucy brings a vibrancy to Hermosa, and is both interested and committed to our program. We look forward to her becoming part of our community and working with our students and families. We are delighted to welcome Lucy to Hermosa.
