UPDATED August 5, 2022

I apologize that I had a mistake in my previous message. Here is the corrected version.  I am sincerely sorry for any confusion that I have caused.

Dear Hart Families,

Can you believe that we only have 9 "wake-ups" until the first day of school? I love the buzz and excitement that is building for our first day of school on Monday, August 15th. This past week our staff has spent together learning and growing. I am humbled by our teachers and their desire to better themselves to best serve our students.   I want to apologize in advance for this long Principal Message, but this is a guide to help set your family up for success. I look forward to seeing all of you on Tuesday, August 9th for Meet the Teacher. All parents may view whom their child's teacher is by logging into PowerSchool. If you need help with this, please contact Alis Brantl at alis_brantl@lovejoyisd.net.

Campus Safety Meeting at Hart Elementary

We would like to invite you to attend a campus based safety and security meeting. These meetings will provide information regarding the processes and procedures the district is taking to further improve safety on our campuses. Each campus will host a meeting. The agenda for each meeting will include a portion that is campus specific and a portion that is general to the district as a whole. Campus, district, and security personnel will be in attendance at each of the meetings. All meetings will be from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM. The dates are as follows:

August 11th - Hart Elementary School

Thank you for being a partner in the safety of our students and staff.

What supplies does my child need?

If you ordered your child's school supplies through EPI, then they will either be delivered to your house or school.  Please click the link below for the '22-'23 school year.

Headphones have not been included on supply lists but will be required at each grade level. Please plan to send your child with a set of headphones - your choice! Thank you!

School Start & End Times

Our school day begins at 7:55am each day, and we end at 3:10pm. If students are not in their seats by 7:55am, then they are considered tardy. We will give students grace during the first two weeks of school.

Car Tags

At Meet the Teacher, you will receive your child's car tag. If you are not going to be here, then you can pick it up on the first day of school. You will be given two car tags. If you need additional car tags, please contact Alis Brantl at alis_brantl@lovejoyisd.net. A parent will need this car tag to pick their child up from the car pick-up line or the Park & Pickup zone.

1st Day Arrival Protocols

The doors will open at 7:25 Monday, and students will report straight to their classrooms. On the first day of school, parents may walk their child into the classroom. To help with parking, we are asking that 3rd and 4th graders be dropped off from 7:30 - 7:40 and Kinder - 2nd grade dropped off from 7:40 - 7:55. Please know that we understand if you can not follow these times, but if you can, we would appreciate your support.

Arrival Protocols

Beginning Tuesday, August 10th, the doors will open at 7:15 each morning, and students will report straight to the cafeteria. At 7:30, our 3rd and 4th graders will be escorted to the gym and sit by class, and our Kindergarten - 2nd graders will sit by class in the cafeteria.

In order for us to maximize efficiency, please do the following things:

  • Have your child on the passenger side of your car.
  • Do NOT get out of your car for arrival or dismissal.
  • Pull all the way forward
  • Please do not get out of line to pass cars
  • For arrival, please do NOT park and walk your child in. We need all parents to go through the carline.

Below, you will find the map for traffic flow.

Dismissal Protocols

Students will have the following options to leave school each day.

  • Bus (Signed up and paid for through Power School)
  • Walker
  • Parent Park & Pickup - This is where parents can park their car, and then they can walk to Door 3 to pick up their child. *This is different from last year.
  • Car Pickup - where parents drive through our line and your child is placed into your car.

At Meet the Teacher, you will be allowed to write this information down so the teacher will know how your child will be getting home. Below, you will find the map for traffic flow.

Birthday Treats

Birthday treats may be purchased from our student nutrition department. This not only benefits student nutrition but also helps us ensure the safety of our students with allergies and dietary needs. Please notify your child's teacher that you have ordered birthday treats so we do not have two birthdays celebrated on the same day. In order to minimalize disruption of instruction, we ask that birthday treats/celebrations are for students and their classmates (no parent visitors).
