President Message -  Jack Mercica

June  2018

What does it take to motivate the voting or non-voting public to get out there and vote in November.
Perhaps they need to be reminded of the consequences of NOT voting for conservative candidates who have a PHD in Common Sense. So let's do that. Check these out and remind your family and friends not to complain if they can't take a few minutes to examine the facts (not media rhetoric) and vote.
Our geniuses in Sacramento passed the Cap-n Trade Tax which will increase gas $0.63 to $0.93 cents a gallon. This is added on to the already existing tax. Aren't you Taxed Enough Already (TEA Party)? Smile each time you fill up your tank and thank your state legislature and Gov. Jerry Brown.
Increase on a new tax every residence will pay for tap-water. (And you thought bottled water was expensive)

118,522 Voters Had To Vote Provisional Ballots Due To County Programming Error

On Tuesday June 5th Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters recorded the biggest voting error ever recorded.

As a designated Poll Watcher I was contacted at 7:05 am from a campaign worker reporting that the first ten voters in one precinct were not showing up on the voting roster.   In fact their entire street was missing from the roster.  I went over even though it was not one of my precincts. Turned out there were two streets omitted from the voting rolls.  This became the problem of the day throughout the entire county.

I had four precincts assigned to me in San Dimas, three had problems with machines not operating properly.  Other problems encountered were they had not properly displayed the write-in candidate information.  One hadn't even opened the Fed-Ex envelope they received the day before.

Later in the day I received another urgent phone call stating that the first ballot they received had been pre-punched for the other candidate.  He requested a new ballot but had to surrender the pre-punched ballot so there is no proof.

With all the focus on voter fraud we are getting much needed attention to the voting problems we face in LAC and throughout California.  The Registrar's office has 30 days to finalize the count and t here are 952,633 VBM ballots of which only 28.9% have been counted. 677,302 have yet to be counted. Along with the 118,522 provisional ballots of missing names or streets and thousands more for other reasons.  We also have those ballots mailed on June 5th which have until Friday June 8th to be received and over 100,000 Absentee.  So we are a long way from declaring winners.  Everyday they do an update on the numbers so keep checking as things can change in many close races.

To check and see if your vote was counted follow this link and provide the necessary information. This year I decided to surrender my VBM ballot and vote at my polling location.  Right now, I'm not listed as voting.  Many who voted provisional did not receive a receipt.
