Annual Turkey Drive Supports The Home for Little Wanderers Families in Need
450-500 Thanksgiving dinner kits will be prepared and donated to greater Boston, Walpole, Plymouth and New Hampshire families in need
The Home for Little Wanderers, the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston and St. Athanasius The Great Greek Orthodox Church will continue their 25+ year partnership to pack 450-500 turkey dinner kits for families in need. For the third year in a row, The Home has been able to fulfill the needs of all the families it serves despite global supply shortages. For over 25 years, St. Athanasius The Great has donated turkeys and coordinated supplies for The Home’s Annual Turkey Drive to ensure The Home’s families don’t go without this year. The Metropolis also offered the use of its 9,000-square-foot hall at the Cathedral Center in Brookline, MA.
On November 22, 2022, volunteers will receive the donations, sort the items, and assemble them into dinner kits in the morning. In the afternoon, The Home’s program personnel will pick up the kits and deliver them to families in need throughout greater Boston, Walpole, Plymouth and New Hampshire.

WHAT Volunteers will pack 450-500 dinner kits for families in need. Kits will include a frozen turkey, produce, dry goods, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, apples, apple cider, and pies.
