HGSFS May Newsletter

Dear Horizons at GSFS Community,

We are just one month out from beginning our summer programming, and this summer is shaping up to be one of our best yet! We will have weekly field trips, weekly culturally relevant assemblies, and four special’s classes throughout the six weeks of programming including karate, yoga, art, and theater. While we have finished hiring for all educator positions, we are looking to hire four lifeguards/swim instructors and will pay for certification. If you know of anyone who would be a good fit, the job listing can be found here. We appreciate you sharing this with your networks! We are also looking for volunteers - to learn more and sign up please fill out this Google form

The annual Horizons Giving Day is this Thursday, May 4th. This is an opportunity to unite our community around equitable education and help Horizons hosted by Greene Street Friends School to connect to the larger community. We need your help! Please join our campaign and help us reach our goal of $50,000! We need you to tell your friends and family members about the important work we are doing and ask them to join us in helping to make a difference.

This is an urgent moment in education as schools and districts are searching for the best ways to support students’ pandemic recovery, and it is well known that barriers to learning have disproportionately affected resource oppressed communities. NOW is the time to invest in high quality programs like Horizons to impact students’ recovery. A gift of any amount helps us to fulfill our mission to create lifelong learners. Thank you for supporting our effort to fill our students’ summer with joy, encouragement and growth! To support our program please visit our website and make a donation.
