Providers: Apply for HHS Relief Fund Distributions for Medicaid & CHIP Providers
On June 9, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), announced additional distributions from the Provider Relief Fund to eligible Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) providers that participate in state Medicaid and CHIP programs.
HHS expects to distribute approximately $15 billion to eligible providers that participate in state Medicaid and CHIP programs and have not received a payment from the Provider Relief Fund General Distribution.

Primary Prevention Service Administration: Notice of Focus Group Activities
AHCCCS will hold online focus groups to gather information related to the administration of primary prevention services under the Substance Abuse Block Grant (SABG) from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). These focus groups are open to the public. AHCCCS encourages the participation of interested stakeholders, including those who have an interest in primary prevention activities statewide. Focus group questions and content will be repeated at each session, but individuals are welcome to attend multiple or all sessions.

Resilient Arizona Crisis Counseling Program to Provide Free and Confidential Support and Connections to Resources for Arizona Residents Impacted by
COVID-19
Crisis Response Network (CRN) launched the new Resilient Arizona Crisis Counseling Program on June 22, 2020 to provide 100% free and confidential support and connections to resources for any Arizona resident impacted by the COVID-19 emergency.

Accessible via CRN’s existing 2-1-1 statewide information and referral phone number, the Resilient Arizona Crisis Counseling Program is a bilingual (English and Spanish), federally-funded program that will connect callers to crisis counseling providers in their area throughout the state.

Resilient Arizona CCP exists to assist individuals and communities in recovering from the psychological effects of the Coronavirus pandemic through crisis counseling services which include community-based outreach, emotional support and educational services.

This resource was made possible by partnership between the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

AHCCCS Awards 5-Year Contract for HEAplus Eligibility System Maintenance and Operations
AHCCCS recently announced a contract award to Accenture for the maintenance and operations of the Health-e-Arizona Plus (HEAplus) eligibility and enrollment system. The contract award is $39 million over five years for maintenance and operations of the system, and $82 million over five years for new development and infrastructure that may occur over the term of the contract, for a total award of $121 million.

AHCCCS Healthy Living Program Receives Platinum Recognition for Second Consecutive Year
AHCCCS received Platinum level recognition from the statewide Healthy Arizona Worksite Program for demonstrating data-driven programming and leveraging cross-sector collaborations to improve the health, well-being and equity of employees and the community. The Platinum level award recognizes organizations making an impact both within and beyond their walls addressing one or more of the many health challenges impacting communities across the state.
