The Rosemary Caldwell Volunteer of the Year Award is the only formal award that the Contra Costa Crisis Center bestows. It is named in honor of a former crisis line director at our agency and honors an outstanding individual whose unselfish work for the well-being of others embodies the highest standards of volunteerism. This year we are proud to announce Ann Khadalia as our 2023 Rosemary Caldwell Volunteer of the Year Award recipient!
Ann has a long history with the Crisis Center, as she has been involved with the agency for decades both as a volunteer and a staff member. However, most recently, Ann has been volunteering within the Call Center and as a Grief Group Facilitator since 2018. Ann’s loving spirit makes everyone who participates in grief groups and calls our lines feel welcome and supported.
You can tell the moment that Ann enters the Crisis Center, as you can probably hear her boisterous laugh and feel the compassionate energy radiating off of her. We are unbelievably lucky to have a volunteer like Ann. Please join me in thanking Ann for selflessly serving others in moments of crisis and grief.
