Q & A with HIP Alumni &

Board Member Daniel Castan

Daniel Castan was one of HIP’s very first peer health educators (PHEs), from 2009-2011, when he was at Palmetto High School. Dan is now a member of HIP’s Board of Directors. He currently lives in New York and works for the Blackstone Group.

SCHOOL PROGRAM UPDATE

HIP's program manager, Katelyn Rozenbroek, has been busy visiting new HIP schools in Miami, Broward, Monroe and Pinellas counties! Teachers tell Katelyn that HIP is critical in helping students adjust to being back to school in-person. The peer educators are excited to be presenting physically in the classrooms and report high levels of engagement from 9th grade students!

HIP Sets Record

For Give Miami Day!

Thanks to you, we smashed our $40k goal by raising $109,301! With our board members’ generous match, we raised a total of $149,301!

HIP also won the Give Miami Day Champion Prize, which is given to the organization whose Champions engaged the most donors! Out of over 900 nonprofits in Miami, HIP was #1!
