HIP School Year In Review
As we reflect on the 2023-2024 school year, we know it has been a year filled with mixed emotions. At HIP, we feel hopeful about the future because we witness kids helping and supporting their classmates and peers–each and every day.

BECAUSE OF YOU...

  • 3,500 11th and 12th graders, across 6 counties, stepped up to be peer educators at their high schools. These students are compassionate, sensitive and empathetic, always thinking about how they can help their fellow peers and give back to their schools and communities.

  • 65,000 9th graders received HIP’s innovative program because of these peer educators. They were given critical, practical health information and a supportive environment to get help.

BECAUSE OF YOU...

  • HIP hired a new South Florida program director

  • HIP expanded to the Little Rock, Arkansas school district, its first public school district outside of Florida, through its partnership with the Clinton Foundation

  • HIP received a research/planning grant from the New York-based Heckscher Foundation to explore expansion to NYC

  • HIP expanded its technological capacity through the use of Canvas, an innovative learning management system

HIP HEALTH SPOTLIGHT

Harvard researchers suggest sounding the alarm about parents’ mental health, not just teens’ mental health. Their research indicates that parents are suffering from anxiety and depression at about the same rates as teens.
