Message from the CEO - Hats off to State Branches!
When you join HISA your local branch is really the first point of call for networking and learning. HISA offers great national conferences like HIC, ATC and Health Data Analytics (coming up in Melbourne) but it is at the grass roots level you can really make a difference. I was impressed last week by the passion and engagement we saw at the Victorian branch event when we hosted a panel discussion on MyHR and its implications for clinicians and consumers. Thank you to the branch for initiating this thought-provoking event which demonstrated how valuable these forums are for sharing member views.

Invite to next cybersecurity survey
Take part in the 2018 cybersecurity survey: The general community places its trust in the healthcare system to safeguard health information. Is the health care system doing enough to safeguard health information? We released the findings from the 2017 cybersecurity survey and are now running the survey again this year to understand what has changed, what has improved and what is yet to be done to safeguard health information. The 2018 cybersecurity survey is now open and will close 15th October, 2018.

A White Paper on Leadership in Clinical Informatics is now available online. The paper was developed to acknowledge the important role of clinicians in leading digital transformation in health.
A White Paper on Leadership in Clinical Informatics is now available online. The paper was developed to acknowledge the important role of clinicians in leading digital transformation in health.
HISA’s Clinical Informatics Community of Practice (CoP) believes leadership in clinical informatics is imperative if we are to get the future of healthcare right in a world where digital is ubiquitous. Leadership skills in clinical informatics must be developed if we are to ensure technology brings value to healthcare delivery and patient experience. This leadership capability needs to be acknowledged by organisations embarking on their digital transformation and, by professional colleges who hold their registered health care professionals accountable for their conduct and practice.
