Message from the CEO Cybersecurity on everyones mind: Its timely that as cyber attacks make global news headlines, our new Community of Practice is preparing for an interactive workshop at HIC 2017 in Brisbane next month. Aimed at CXIOs, CMIOs and CNIOs as well as mainstream clinical staff, consumers, health professionals and ICT management, the session is a chance to hear from the experts on risk mitigation, best practice and cybersecurity governance. Keeping patient records safe and secure from very real threats is a long-term commitment requiring resourcing and an educated digital health workforce. Cybersecurity was once seen as mostly a technical challenge but today we know it embraces human processes too. Media hype or not - we all need to be mindful and committed to building consumer and clinician confidence in digital health.
Continuing with the cybersecurity theme, the latest episodes of the podcast Dissecting Digital Health are with cybersecurity gurus Dr Trish Williams Professor of Digital Health Systems at Flinders University and Theresa Meadows, Co-Chair of The Health Care Industry Cybersecurity Task Force of the US Department of Health and Human Services. Check them out or subscribe to the podcast for new episodes each week.
